Cindy Markley, MA, LPC, NCC, CGRS
Hi, I’m Cindy Markley, founder of Living Waters. I started Living Waters asking God to take all the past pain and turn it into Living Waters for others. I don’t just have education. I have experience; experience in being wounded and in walking through to healing. The things I am most passionate about are the very things God has delivered me out of.
My passion is helping people heal/recover from toxic relationships and narcissistic abuse. A toxic relationship does not have to be exclusive to romantic relationships; it can be with a family member, coworker, or friend. Another passion is helping those who have lost their sense of self-identity and belonging. Whether it stems from anxiety, shame, depression, codependency, or trauma, I will help you change the self-destructive thoughts, negative core beliefs and unhealthy behaviors that keep you stuck. Please reach out and give me a call. It is never too late to get the help you deserve.
Qualifications include: Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri and Certified Play Therapist. Completing the highly esteemed Gottman Trainings in Level I & II has equipped me to work intricately with couples. With certification in EMDR I & II, trauma therapy can help those with PTSD and other traumatic events. I am also a CGRS: Certified Grief Recovery Specialist with the Grief Recovery Institute; an organization accepted and implemented with world-wide recognition.

Wherever you are on your life journey, I’m here to walk alongside you and help you find your way. I believe that at some point, each of us can benefit from a compassionate presence—someone who helps us discover or rediscover our identity, purpose, and path. Life is meant to be lived fully, yet challenges along the way can cause us to feel lost or uncertain. Whether you’re feeling lonely, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, confused, angry, numb, or simply unsure of how to navigate your emotions, I would be honored to help you reconnect with your best self and take meaningful steps toward living the life you desire.
Each of us has a unique purpose and journey. What’s right for one person may not be what’s best for another, and I believe in honoring those differences. I view every client as a unique individual with their own story, strengths, and needs.
My approach is faith-based, but always client-led. I believe you are the expert on your own life—your heart, your mind, and your experiences. Alongside faith integration, I use evidence-based therapy techniques drawn from a variety of approaches, including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Logotherapy, Adlerian, Interpersonal, Relational, Humanistic, Family, and Marital counseling.
While I work with clients of all ages, I have extensive experience supporting adolescents. My background includes years in public education as a special education teacher, middle school counselor, and high school counselor. I’m passionate about helping people of all ability levels, personality types, and backgrounds discover their strengths and move toward their best life.
Asking for help is a courageous act—it’s a sign of strength, growth, and hope. I would be honored to be part of your journey.

Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
